Annual IMAGES Holiday Tour of Homes Huge Success
A tradition for over 30 years, the IMAGES Tour of Homes presents unique and interesting homes decorated for the holidays by area florists each December. It is the main fundraiser for IMAGES: A Festival of the Arts. Over 950 people attended the Tour, raising $22,000 for the Festival. Homes on this year’s tour included:
Home of Mark and Laura Beckwith, decorated by the homeowners and Lindley’s Nursery and Garden Center – This 1930’s era, riverfront home features a striking contemporary interior. The design complements the home’s original heart pine floors, an eclectic art collection and several pieces of furniture handmade by the owner’s grandfather. A covered front porch is a perfect spot for entertaining or watching the boats go by.
Home of Richard Brooks, decorated by the homeowner – Feel the romanticism of the turn of the 20th century when life was simple like sitting on the front porch swing chatting with neighbors as they stroll by the picket fence.
Home of Brooks and Jenn Casey, decorated by the homeowners and accents from Garden Arts – This new beachside home is designed for family comfort and features the owner’s personal taste. The owner’s father built the unique kitchen island with timber milled from family property. An upstairs front porch catches the ocean breeze.
Home of Lori Retz-Edens and Wayne Edens, decorated by Pink Flamingo at Petals – This vintage Dutch Colonial combines original features with some contemporary additions that provide a warm and welcoming environment. Inside, an extensive art collection adds color and a bit of whimsy. Outside, the exquisite landscaping makes this a place of beauty.
Home of Mike and Nancy Evolga, decorated by New Smyrna Beach Florist – This newly built beachside home is made for entertaining complete with a large chef’s kitchen which includes five ovens. The beautifully landscaped property has a sitting area which includes a gas fireplace and summer kitchen.
Home of Brian and Cathy Hartman, decorated by Lindley’s Nursery and Garden Center – Hawaii serves as the inspiration for this open space home. The interior design features tropical colors in its artwork and a lovely view of the river. The tropical landscaping includes lovely orchids hanging from trees.
The popular IMAGES Boutique was held at at Atlantic Center’s Yurick Studios Downtown. League volunteers worked countless hours all year long to create holiday ornaments, hand-made purses and baskets, jewelry, decorated aprons, paper lamp shades, and other unique and lovely items. The boutique features a silent auction, and offered an elegant array of refreshments to ticket holders.
IMAGES warmly thanks the homeowners, volunteers, artists, participating florists, Chef Sue Flynn, and businesses that support the Tour of Homes. Organizers would also like to thank the community for supporting this year’s tour and making it such a big success. |
