Kids enjoy six, hands-on art projects at the Creative Education Tent, presented by Atlantic Center at Harris House and sponsored by People for Drug Free Youth.

Children's Art Programs

Children's Art ProgramIMAGES: A Festival of the Arts is for the entire family. Stroll through the Festival and explore the arts, enjoy the varied entertainment from live music to performances, and stop by the Creative Education tent for free art projects geared specifically to kids. The Education Committee of Atlantic Center for the Arts at Harris House partners with Volusia County Teachers to create fun and meaningful experiences for budding artists. There’s also facepainting, and the Space Coast Woodturner’s were on-site on Saturday so that kids could try their hand at woodturning.

The artwork of our very talented Southeast Volusia Students was on display in the Student Art Tent, located next to the Creative Education area. The work of over 65 students was represented.

In exchange for their assistance at the Festival, IMAGES provides money and supplies for the art classrooms of the participating schools, thanks to the Creative Education sponsors. People for Drug Free Youth, the major sponsor of Creative Education, partners with ACA throughout the year in a variety of group activities for our youth in an effort for them to learn teamwork while building character and developing positive self-esteem.

There are exhibition opportunities for outstanding Florida artists, as well as educational programs, including workshops for children and adults; summer art camp for youth; internships for high school and college students; outreaches to public schools; special projects for the underserved; and partnerships with organizations county-wide.
