Bright skies, incredible music, thousands of art enthusiasts, and the talent of 235 fine artists from around the country combined for a spectacular 33rd annual IMAGES: A Festival of the Arts in New Smyrna Beach. Presented by Atlantic Center for the Arts, the festival is sponsored by the County of Volusia, the City of New Smyrna Beach, the Southeast Volusia Advertising Authority, the Community Redevelopment Agency of New Smyrna Beach, State Farm Insurance, Riverside National Bank, BrightHouse Networks, AT&T The Real Yellow Pages, and Riverside Electric.

More than $90,000 in Patrons Awards and cash prizes was given. Jurors Josh Garrick and Que Throm gave festival awards in six areas.

"It was my pleasure to be a part of such a well run, organized operation as IMAGES 09," Throm said. "The selection of participating artists afforded a showcase for varied media, technique, and concepts, all of which created an interesting cross-section of contemporary art expressions. My best wishes to the artists in the show for their continued success."

Garrick said, "What a wonderful experience to judge the best planned and best run art festival I've ever experienced. Not only was the art of an exceptionally high level in every category, but the sincere welcome that I felt in every artist's tent made this a particularly joyful day.”
